Plastic surgery packages abroad: what all-inclusive should really cover

What a plastic surgery package abroad should include, what usually costs extra and the red flags that matter more than the headline price.

Plastic surgery packages bundle the operation, hotel, transfers and aftercare into one price. Done well, they spare you dozens of separate bookings and make the trip far less stressful. Done badly, they hide extras or cut corners in exactly the places where safety lives. This guide explains what an all-inclusive package in Yerevan, Armenia should cover, what is normally extra, and the questions worth asking before you pay a deposit.

Keep one thing in mind: “all-inclusive” is a sales format, not a medical standard. What matters is that you can read your estimate line by line and know exactly what you are buying.

What should an all-inclusive plastic surgery package include?

A good package is not judged by how many perks it lists, but by whether it covers everything you need to have surgery safely. At minimum, expect these in writing:

  • Consultation with the surgeon who will operate, first online with your photos and then in person before surgery.
  • Pre-operative tests: blood work, ECG and anything else the anaesthetist requests based on your age and history.
  • Surgeon’s and anaesthetist’s fees, with the planned type of anaesthesia stated.
  • Operating theatre, materials and implants where relevant, with the brand or type named.
  • Hospital nights your surgeon considers necessary.
  • Immediate post-op medication and the first compression garment, where one is used.
  • In-person check-ups during your stay, including stitch removal if it falls before you fly.
  • Airport, hotel and clinic transfers, plus accommodation close to the clinic.
  • An interpreter or coordinator, since Yerevan clinics usually work in Armenian, Russian and English.
  • Remote follow-up once you are home.

What is usually not included in the price?

This is where surprises tend to appear. None of these items is a trick in itself; they simply sit outside most packages, so budget for them:

Item Usually included? What to ask
Flights No Which dates they recommend for arrival and return
Travel insurance No Whether your policy covers complications of planned surgery (many do not)
Extra hotel nights Sometimes The nightly rate if your surgeon asks you to stay longer
Meals Breakfast, sometimes Whether food is provided during the hospital stay
Second garment Not always How many are included and whether they are made to measure
Lymphatic massage Rarely Whether it is recommended and how many sessions
Treatment of complications It depends What the clinic covers, in writing
Touch-ups It depends The revision policy and time limits

Complications deserve the most attention. Ask what happens if you need a return to theatre for a haematoma, whether theatre and anaesthesia are charged again, and what support you get if a problem shows up after you have flown home.

How much does a plastic surgery package cost?

There is no standard price, because each package is built around your procedure. The main cost drivers are:

  1. The operation and its length: eyelid surgery and a tummy tuck or mommy makeover are very different undertakings.
  2. Type of anaesthesia and number of hospital nights.
  3. Materials: implants, mesh or custom garments.
  4. Length of stay: more days in Yerevan means more hotel nights and transfers.
  5. Accommodation standard and whether someone travels with you.

As a rough reference, a primary rhinoplasty in Yerevan costs about 400,000 to 1,000,000 AMD (roughly $1,000 to $2,600) for the surgeon and clinic alone, based on Yerevan clinics’ public price lists in early 2026. A package with stay and transfers will naturally cost more. For any other procedure, the honest answer is a personal estimate based on your photos and medical history.

Red flags in cheap plastic surgery packages

A lower price is not a problem in itself. The worry is when savings come out of safety. Be cautious if:

  • You get a fixed price without anyone seeing photos or asking about your health.
  • You do not know the surgeon’s name until the day of surgery.
  • Nobody mentions the anaesthetist or pre-op tests.
  • Many procedures are combined into one long session with no explanation of the limits.
  • The plan has you flying home one or two days after major surgery.
  • You are pushed with discounts that expire “today”.
  • There is no written estimate, only chat messages.

This applies to every destination. Turkey is the largest market for cosmetic travel, with very experienced clinics alongside some that run on high volume; “turkey plastic surgery all inclusive” deals vary widely. Armenian clinics tend to be smaller, with fewer patients per day, but the rule is the same everywhere: verify who operates on you and what you sign.

What a package in Yerevan looks like: stay, flights and follow-up

A sensible package fits your procedure rather than forcing your recovery into a fixed itinerary. Typical stays in Yerevan range from about 5 to 7 days for facial surgery such as rhinoplasty or blepharoplasty, up to 10 to 14 days for larger body procedures. Your surgeon decides when you are fit to fly, based on how you are healing.

Entry rules depend on your passport, so check current requirements before booking, and leave some slack in your return date rather than booking the tightest possible ticket.

After you return, follow-up continues remotely: you send photos on agreed days and the team tells you whether everything looks on track. It is wise to let your GP or a local plastic surgeon know about your surgery in case you need an in-person check.

Frequently asked questions

Is a package cheaper than booking everything separately?

Sometimes, because clinics and coordinators negotiate hotels and transfers. The bigger benefit is clarity: one written estimate where every line is accounted for.

Is medical insurance included?

Usually not. Check your travel insurance and ask about specialist cover for cosmetic surgery complications, since many standard policies exclude them.

What if I need to stay longer?

Extra hotel nights are normally charged separately. Ask the rate in advance and book a flexible return ticket.

Can I choose my surgeon within a package?

You should. Choose the surgeon after the online consultation and before booking, and make sure their name appears on the estimate.

Do I pay everything upfront?

Usually a deposit secures the date and the balance is paid after the in-person consultation. Always get the refund terms in writing.
