Preparing for your medical trip to Armenia: a planning timeline
A simple timeline from first consultation to the flight home — documents, bookings, what to pack and how to plan your recovery days in Yerevan.
A well-planned trip makes the medical part easier. This timeline covers the practical steps; your doctor will give you the medical instructions that apply to you.
6–8 weeks before: consultation and plan
- Have your online consultation and ask every question you have.
- Receive your written treatment plan and estimate.
- Confirm the dates for surgery and the number of days your doctor recommends staying in Armenia.
4–6 weeks before: documents and bookings
- Check your passport is valid. Entry rules depend on your citizenship and can change, so confirm current requirements with official sources before booking.
- Book flights with flexible return dates if possible.
- Book accommodation close to the clinic for the whole recovery period.
- Arrange travel insurance and ask about cover for medical travel.
2 weeks before: health preparation
- Follow your doctor’s instructions on medication, smoking and alcohol before surgery.
- Arrange any tests your doctor asked you to do at home.
- Prepare a list of your current medications and allergies to bring with you.
What to pack
- Loose, comfortable clothing that is easy to put on.
- Copies of your documents, test results and the treatment plan.
- Your regular medications in their original packaging.
- A phone charger and an adapter — Armenia uses type C and F sockets.
In Yerevan
After arrival you will have pre-operative tests and meet your surgeon in person. Plan quiet days after the procedure; light sightseeing is only for later in your stay and only if your doctor agrees.
After you return home
Keep your follow-up schedule and stay in touch with your coordinator. If anything worries you, contact the clinic or your local doctor straight away.
